Welcome to IAFOCON 2026 / Forensic Odontology 360°: Science, Skill & Service

Dear Esteemed Delegates, Colleagues, and Friends,

With great pleasure and heartfelt warmth, the Organising Committee welcomes you to IAFOCON 2026 – the 23rd National Conference of the Indian Association of Forensic Odontology, scheduled from 4th to 6th September 2026, at the College of Dental Sciences, Davangere, Karnataka, organised by the Department of Forensic Dentistry.

Anchored in the theme “Forensic Odontology 360°: Science, Skill & Service,” IAFOCON 2026 aims to present a truly holistic perspective of the discipline—integrating scientific evidence, professional expertise, and societal responsibility. The conference reflects the evolving role of forensic odontologists in bridging the gap between the scene of crime and the courtroom, ensuring accuracy, ethics, and justice at every step.

The preconference workshops have been specially curated to provide participants with a 360-degree, hands-on understanding of forensic workflows, covering procedures from crime scene documentation and evidence collection to analysis, interpretation, reporting, and expert testimony in courts of law. These workshops are designed to enhance practical skills and build confidence in real-world forensic applications.

Over three intellectually enriching days, the conference will feature distinguished keynote lectures, scientific paper and poster presentations, interactive panel discussions, and skill-oriented workshops, offering a vibrant platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation. The academic program caters to academicians, practitioners, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as professionals from allied forensic and legal disciplines.

Set in the cultural heart of Karnataka, Davangere welcomes you with its warmth, simplicity, and time-honoured tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava (The Guest is God).

As professionals dedicated to the pursuit of truth and service, we are guided by the insightful wisdom of D. V. Gundappa (D. V. G.): "ದೀಪದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದೊಡನಾದುದೆಲ್ಲ ಸುಖ; ಜ್ಞಾನವೊಂದೇ ಸ್ಥಿರ, ಸೇವೆ ಒಂದೇ ಫಲ" (Dīpada beḷakige bandōḍanādudella sukha; jñānavondē sthira, sēve ondē phala)
(All that happens in the light of the lamp is comfort; Knowledge alone is stable, Service alone is the fruit.)

This profound message perfectly captures the spirit of IAFOCON 2026—a place where the light of knowledge is shared, leading to the ultimate goal of beneficial service to society. We hope your stay will be both academically rewarding and culturally memorable, reflecting the rich heritage and hospitality of this region.

We cordially invite you to be a part of IAFOCON 2026 and contribute to this national confluence of minds dedicated to advancing forensic odontology through Science, Skill, and Service.

We look forward to welcoming you to Davangere in September 2026.

With warm regards,
